Extension for photo mac trial#
Trial an error is difficult, because things happen in real time, which means you get a half-distorted image before you’ve done “fixing” it, and the effects are sometimes unexpected (two photos layered over one another, for example) and sometimes impossible - the extension is unable to save or edit a photo. I’ve tried different modes, but there’s no real explanation of what works how, the help guide is not any help either. The extension crashes repeatedly, and using it is non-intuitive (as a long-time - and quite intuitive! - computer user, that is based on experience, not noviceness…).
May fix pictures, but needs fixing first. Get DxO Perspective or Affinity Photo instead. Unless you love frustration, save your money and don't buy this. Every time you want to use the extension you first have to re-apply your preferences, and the extension sometimes crashes when you're doing this and closes Photos without warning. Third - preferences applied in the main application are not carried over to the extension. With a lot of retries I finally got a photo that looks good, but it was something I was able to do in seconds using DxO Perspective or Affinity Photo. What you wind up with is a severely distorted photo. When you finally get all four corners applied, the results are ludicrous. The problem is as soon as you release one corner of the square, the results are applied immediately.
There's a square you align to the perspective distortion in the image. Second - there seems to be no "real" vertical or horizontal geometry correction. The cancel and reset buttons don't always cancel or reset and sometimes cause the extension to crash. It's hard to tell whether or not a button is activated, and the check boxes are really tiny.

I read through the user's guide twice and and while it gave a vague idea of how to use the application, I still had to resort to trial and error. Where to begin?įirst - the interface is really unintuitive. I bought this because I was looking for geometry correction in an extension, but it seems I wasted my money.
